Compared my public apology to my private one, the private one actually fixed things
Got let go from a coffee cart gig in Austin after a customer filmed me being short with her over a mobile order mixup. My boss made me post a public apology on our shop page, and it got 40 comments of people calling me fake. Later I reached out to the same customer directly, owned that I was juggling three steam wands and hadn't slept, and offered a free month of drinks. She actually came back in person and we talked it out for 15 minutes. Has anyone else noticed the crowd forgives slower than the actual person you wronged?
