Finally got my side project seen after being blackballed from my last gig
After I got let go from that agency job for speaking up about the unpaid overtime, I dropped $250 on a basic portfolio site. Took me 3 months to rebuild my client list from scratch. This week someone from a company I used to pitch to actually reached out and said they found my work through a forum post I wrote last fall. It wasn't a big contract, just a $600 logo job, but it felt like proof that my name isn't permanently ruined in this industry. That site fee felt like gambling on myself and honestly it paid off enough to keep going. Has anyone else paid for something small that helped you crawl back after cancellation?
