Found out my old boss kept a file of every complaint ever made about me, 11 of them, all from one guy

I ran into a former coworker last week at a hardware store in Dayton and she let slip that our old manager kept a folder on me with 11 written complaints, every single one from the same customer who came in twice a month. Nobody ever showed me that file or let me respond to a single one of them before I got let go over a "pattern of complaints." Is there any way to request that kind of paperwork after the fact, or is it just gone once HR closes the case?
