My kitchen equipment review got me banned from a chef forum
I posted a detailed breakdown of a $40 cast iron pan failing after two months, with photos of the crack and a video of the wobble, and a moderator removed it for 'unverified claims' after a brand fan complained. The pan came from a shop in Portland and I still have the receipt plus the email from the shop confirming the defect. Has anyone else had a straightforward product complaint treated like a personal attack on a brand's fanbase?

That Portland shop confirmed the defect in writing, which is more proof than most people ever get when they post a bad review. The mods there aren't really protecting anyone from fake claims, they're protecting the brand's feelings. I've seen it happen on a knife forum too, where a guy posted rust pics on a $200 blade and got dogpiled for not drying it right. Once a fan base decides a product is good, your receipt and photos stop mattering because you're messing with their identity a little. Keep the emails and the receipt, post the whole thing somewhere without mods who own the brand, and let the shop's own words do the talking.
