Back in March 2022, a woman in Cleveland misread a license plate and posted the wrong guy's address as a 'predator alert' after a near-miss at her kid's bus stop. He got threats for three weeks, lost his delivery gig with DoorDash, and she got fired from her bank job when he sued for defamation. But now she runs a podcast claiming she was 'canceled for protecting children' and that the real blame belongs to the police who never followed up on her report. I keep going back and forth: is the punishment for a careless mistake too heavy, or does the intent not matter when the damage is that real?
