Canned tuna in olive oil is way better than the water-packed stuff
Switched to oil-packed tuna last week for my lazy salad hack and man, I messed up big time. The water-packed can I grabbed by mistake made everything taste like wet cardboard. Has anyone else had that moment where you grab the wrong can and ruin lunch?

Keep the water version, just add a splash of good olive oil yourself and a squeeze of lemon. Saves you a buck and tastes the same.

Doesn't that depend on what kind of tuna you're buying? If it's the cheap stuff packed in oil it's already pretty wet, so adding your own oil might make it too greasy. I know when I get the kind in water, it's way less oily and you can control the flavor better. Plus, sometimes the oil in the can isn't great quality, even if it says olive oil. I think you're right about saving money though, that's a good tip.

You're so right. I grabbed a cheap oil-packed can once thinking I'd save time and it was just a soggy mess. Never again. Water-packed is the only way to go if you want control.
