Guy at the food bank in Akron told me to add a spoon of sugar to cheap canned tomato soup
I was volunteering at a food bank in Akron last month and this older guy next to me kept stacking cans of tomato soup in his box. I asked if he actually liked the stuff and he laughed and told me the trick is to add a spoon of sugar and a splash of milk while it heats up. He claimed it kills the tinny taste and makes it taste way closer to the real stuff. I tried it that same night with a 79 cent can and honestly he was right, it was night and day. Then I started messing around more and found a pinch of garlic powder and some crushed crackers on top makes it even better. Anyone else have a cheap can that needs a fix like this before it's actually good?
