I dropped $800 on a 'career accelerator' program that was basically a PDF
Saw an ad for a program called 'Career Launchpad' promising direct intros to hiring managers. Paid upfront, got a 40-page generic guide and a single, outdated email list. The 'coaching call' was a recorded webinar from 2020. Has anyone actually had a good experience with a paid career service, or are they all scams?

Why do they even bother with the fake coaching call?

Outdated email list from 2020" is the part that got me. That's not just bad, it's completely useless. How can they even send that out with a straight face? The whole industry feels like it's built on selling people a dream when they're feeling desperate. I got burned on a "LinkedIn makeover" that was just a list of basic tips you can find for free. It makes you scared to try anything.

Wait, they seriously tried to sell a list from 2020? That's like giving someone a map to a store that closed years ago. I mean, half those contacts probably don't even work there anymore. How do they not feel embarrassed?
