That Tuesday my inbox hit zero by 9am changed how I plan my whole week
I used to stack meetings back to back until some random Tuesday in March when two clients cancelled and I finished everything by noon, ended up doing more actual work in 4 hours than I normally do in 3 days. Has anyone else tried blocking off mornings with zero calls, or does that just not work in your industry?
Mornings without calls sound great until you remember the other side of the deal: you just moved all those meetings to the afternoon and now your brain is fried by 2pm trying to remember why you walked into the kitchen. Tried it once, ended up taking a “quick nap” at 3 that turned into the whole evening gone. Maybe the real trick is having clients cancel more often, that seems to be the actual magic ingredient here.
so i tried shifting things to the morning instead of ditching calls completely. @val_bailey66 i feel you on the afternoon crash though. turns out i just needed to block out an hour after lunch for nothing but coffee and staring at the wall. that saved me from the 3pm nap spiral. also started putting my most boring tasks around 2pm so i can't mess anything important up. it's not perfect but way better than where i was. some days still get weird but at least i'm not losing whole evenings anymore.
