Turned down a promotion at my company to take a lower paying job somewhere else
I had a supervisor role lined up making $12k more but the hours were 60 a week with no remote option. I went with a junior position at a startup in Austin instead working 40 hours and two days from home. Has anyone else passed on more money for better balance and regretted it later?

Jump right into that 60 hour week grind - you'd be sleeping at your desk dreaming about that $12k while your real life passed you by. @jessica707 nailed it, setting your own hours is basically priceless when you're not chained to a desk. I'd take a remote day over a corner office any time, especially if the alternative is watching the sun set from a cubicle. Good luck explaining to your friends why you're still in the office at 8pm on a Friday for that extra cash.
