Vent: My whole team got pulled into a surprise meeting on Friday afternoon
Our boss called us all in at 4 PM to say the project we worked on for six months was being scrapped. He gave no real reason, just said the company was 'shifting direction'. I had put in over 300 hours on that work. The worst part was he told us to just drop it and start fresh on Monday. Has anyone else had a project canceled out of the blue like that? How did you handle it?

Honestly that's a gut punch, been there before. Tbh the best move is to save every single file from that project to a personal drive before Monday. Ngl you need proof of that work for your resume or portfolio. Then try to get a real one on one with your boss next week to ask for clear goals on the new thing, because starting fresh with no direction just sets you up to waste more time.

That's brutal. My last surprise meeting was about the new coffee pods being decaf only, which felt like a similar level of betrayal.

Totally agree with the decaf betrayal, that's a special kind of office crime. The_tessa's right about grabbing your files, but honestly after that decaf move I'd be looking for a new job too.
