Choosing between a miter saw station and a track saw setup for a small shop

I had to pick between building a big miter saw station or getting a good track saw for my 12x20 shop in Tacoma. I went with the Festool track saw because I can break it down and store it, and it handles sheet goods better. It worked out great for a built-in bookcase job last month, but I do miss having a dedicated spot for quick trim cuts. Anyone with a small space have a good fix for a temporary miter saw stand?

Honestly, is a permanent miter station even that big of a deal? I just clamp a board between two sawhorses when I need one.

Yeah, I feel you on that. My garage is so packed that a permanent setup would just be in the way. The sawhorse method gets it done and then I can clear the floor again. Sometimes the fancy shop projects are more about the dream than the actual work you do.

The Festool track saw still needs a dedicated stand. Sawhorses get old fast.
