Circular saw blade guard jammed 3 times on a job, here's the 5 minute fix

Last Tuesday I was ripping plywood for a built-in at a client's place in Portland and the blade guard kept hanging up mid cut, super annoying. Turns out sawdust had packed into the pivot point under the guard spring, so I blew it out with compressed air and hit it with a dry lube spray. After that it worked perfect for the rest of the day. Anyone else run into this on their saws, or do you just take the guard off completely?

Man, that exact thing happened to me on a framing job last month. I was cutting ply for shear walls and the guard stuck open halfway through a sheet, scared the crap out of me. I keep a little can of silicone spray in my truck now just for this, works way better than the stuff I used to use. You're right about the sawdust packing into the spring pivot, it's like it builds up in there and grabs the spring. I tried taking the guard off once for a big run of cuts, but felt way too sketchy with the blade exposed, so I put it right back. Blowing it out every couple of days has been my go to, but the lube is what really keeps it moving smooth.
