Dowel pins vs. biscuits for a face frame, here's what I settled on

Had to build 14 cabinet doors and drawer fronts for a kitchen reno in Tacoma and kept going back and forth on joinery. Biscuits are fast and forgiving but I swear they can shift on you during glue up if you dont have the right clamps. Dowel pins take more setup with the jig and measuring but the alignment is rock solid every time. I ended up going with 8mm dowels after messing up one biscuit joint and having to recut a rail, that was enough for me. Cost me about 60 bucks for a decent self centering jig and a couple hundred dowels. Took longer on the first few but by door number 6 I was cranking them out. Anyone else ditch biscuits for dowels or am I overthinking this? The face frames sit flat and square now, but I'm curious if there's a trick I'm missing for biscuit alignment that would have saved me the headache.
