Just realized my dovetail pins were always on the wrong side
For about 8 years I cut my dovetails with the pins on the tail board because that's how my old man taught me back in Phoenix. Last month a finish carpenter pointed out that standard practice is the opposite for better strength and looks. Has anyone else switched up their dovetail layout and noticed a real difference in fit?

Buddy of mine had something similar. His dad promised him a car if he kept his grades up. Straight As for three years. His dad said "I meant after college" then just laughed. He still brings it up sometimes. Not even mad anymore, just says it taught him what not to do as a parent.
