Remembering when I had to pick between a 12-inch or 14-inch circular saw for my first real job
It was for a big deck build in Springfield, and my budget was tight. I went with the 12-inch because it was cheaper and lighter, but cutting those 2x10 joists was a real chore. Anyone have a story about picking a tool that seemed right but turned out wrong for the job?

I used to always buy the cheapest tool I could find. After burning out a saw on a single project, I learned that quality matters more than the price tag. Now I save up for the right tool instead of buying twice.

Oh man, I feel that! I did the same thing with a cheap drill for a fence project. That thing stalled out on every single lag bolt, which was a huge pain. Sometimes the right tool is worth the extra cash up front.
