Staple gun left a brick pattern in my palm for a week

I was doing a re-roof in Tacoma last month and grabbed the old pneumatic stapler without checking the pressure, it sank a row of staples into a 2x4 and one bounced back right into my hand. The bruise looked like a tiny brick wall, my wife laughed for days. Anyone else get weird marks from tools that just won't fade?

Man that bruise sounds gnarly lol. Reminds me of the time I dropped a socket wrench on my foot and the bruise looked exactly like a smiley face for two weeks. Coworker kept asking if my foot was happy to see him.
