Threw $120 at those silicone caulk smoothing tools and they were worthless
I saw a video from some guy online showing these little silicone fingertip tools for smoothing caulk. Spent 40 bucks for a set of 3 different sizes. First time I used one on a bathtub job it just smeared the caulk everywhere and left a messy line. Tried wetting it, tried dry, tried different angles. Ended up going back to my old trick of using a wet finger and a damp rag. Then I saw they sold a whole kit with a handle and tips for $80 more. Bought that too thinking it had to be better. Nope, same garbage results. So now I'm out $120 on these things that sit in my drawer. I swear half these tools on Instagram are just made to separate guys from their money. The wet finger method has been around for 50 years and it works perfect. Anyone else snakebit by these fancy gadgets that don't do what they show in the videos?

That same hype happened with those viral bread machines @murphy.tessa, everyone raves until you try one yourself.
