Unpopular opinion: stop using a chalk line to lay out wall plates, a laser level changed my whole week
I got tired of snapping lines that rubbed off on rough framing, so I grabbed a $90 laser level and shot all the plates on a 32 ft wall in about 10 minutes. My old boss in Dayton told me lasers were for guys who couldn't read a tape, but he never had to redo a wall because the chalk smeared. Anyone else ditch the chalk line for framing layout, or am I the only one?
