A customer asked me to install carpet around his pet snake's tank, then changed his mind mid-cut
Last Tuesday in Denver, this guy watches me lay out 400 square feet of plush Berber, then says 'actually, can you make the pattern match the snake's scale markings?' and when I laughed, he deadpanned 'what's funny about interior design?' before telling me to cut it all into 2 foot squares, has anyone else had a client pivot that hard after you already prepped the room?
People always think their living room is a blank canvas until they're standing in the middle of a half torn up floor and suddenly get a vision. That snake scale thing sounds like someone watched one too many HGTV shows where they make the weirdest stuff look classy. Bet he woulda blamed you when the pattern didn't line up perfectly either. Some folks just need to feel like they're making a creative choice even when it makes zero practical sense.
