A homeowner in my last job said something that stuck with me
They asked if we ever used leftover padding pieces to build up low spots before the main pad goes down. I'd always just used full sheets, but their idea for waste made sense. Anyone else try this method to save material and get a flatter finish?

Oh totally! I saw a video where a crew did exactly that with scrap foam pieces. It seemed to work great for fine-tuning the level before the big sheets went on top. Smart way to use up what would just get thrown out.

My buddy's crew tried that method on a basement job last month... they said it saved a ton of time getting everything flat. The small scraps filled all the weird gaps perfectly. It's a clever trick that actually works.

But is it really that big of a deal?
