Back in 2005, a basement job in Akron taught me to always check for water lines first

I was cutting a pad for a big rec room and my knife hit something hard, then water started spraying from the concrete. The homeowner had no idea a capped line was there from an old laundry hookup. What's the weirdest hidden thing you've found under a floor?

That's a good story but hitting a capped line isn't the end of the world... it's just a shutoff valve away from being fixed. Weirdest thing I ever saw was a full set of old car keys buried in a slab, like someone just dropped them in the wet concrete and walked off. Now that's a real head-scratcher.

Imagine dropping your keys and just leaving them there forever. Makes you wonder if it was an accident or some weird time capsule idea. I bet the guy who poured that slab had a real bad day trying to find them later. Stuff like that gets me thinking about all the random junk we must be walking over every day. What's the strangest object you've found buried in a wall or floor?
