Can we talk about the 8-foot wide hallway job in Fresno last Tuesday?

Everyone says you need a power stretcher for every room, but that hallway was so tight I had to use a knee kicker and a chisel bar. The homeowner, Mr. Chen, was watching and asked if I was doing it wrong, but the seam came out perfect with zero wrinkles. Has anyone else pulled off a clean install in a tight spot without the big stretcher?

Remember when everyone said you had to have a power stretcher for berber? Had a job with a crazy spiral staircase once. Couldn't get the big machine up there, obviously. Ended up using a knee kicker and a lot of patience, working from the top down. Boss thought I was nuts, but the nap laid down perfect. Sometimes the old school way is the only way that fits.

My buddy did a whole basement with just a kicker because the doorway was too narrow. Turned out flawless.

Ever try fitting a stretcher in a 1920s bungalow's tiny closet?
