Heard a builder badmouthing our work at a supply house in Nashville
I was picking up glue at Builders Supply yesterday and overheard a general contractor telling his buddy that carpet installers 'just roll stuff out and collect a check'. He said we don't care about seams or pattern matching. I wanted to say something but kept my mouth shut. It got me thinking - do any of you guys run into this kind of attitude from builders, and how do you handle it without burning bridges?

Wonder what that builder would say if he saw the hours we spend on a tricky herringbone pattern or a multicolor berber. Has he ever had to seam together two pieces of carpet with a heavy medallion design where the repeat is every 27 inches? That's not just rolling it out, that's a full day's puzzle.
