Hot take: I stopped stretching carpet in winter after a job in Boise went bad, now I pre-heat the room first
Did a 60 oz berber in a Boise rental back in January with the thermostat off and the backing cracked along the seam within 3 weeks, then did the same carpet in the same house in July and it laid flat with no callbacks. Now I run a $40 space heater for 2 hrs before I touch the power stretcher, and my partner says I'm just wasting time. Who else changes their stretch routine based on room temp, and does anyone have a number they trust for how warm is warm enough?
