Showerthought: the tack strip I pulled out of a Kansas City rental nearly cost me a thumb
Was demoing old carpet in a rental near Westport last Tuesday and grabbed a strip with bare hands instead of my pliers, and a rusty staple went right through my glove. Spent the next 20 minutes flushing it with the kitchen faucet before the landlord showed up, and now I keep a $12 magnet bar in the van to sweep every room before I touch anything. How do you all handle demo when the old pad is stapled within an inch of its life?
