TIL the hard way that power stretcher pins need sharpening way more often than I thought
Last month I did a 1,400 sq ft office install and spent an extra 3 hours fighting wrinkles because my pins were dull, swapped in a new set and it went smooth as butter. How often do you guys actually sharpen or replace yours, or am I the only one who let it slide for too long?
Funny you mention that, the other day I sharpened a chisel and got distracted, ended up using it to open a paint can and wrecked the edge. Took me twenty minutes to fix it before I could even get back to the job. Point is, sharpening stuff always feels like a chore until you actually need it, same as stretching pins. I keep a little marker on my tool bag now, just a sharpie dot for every time I should have checked. Saves me from trusting my memory, which is basically worthless.
