Tried to save 30 minutes by skipping the seam tape measurement on a ranch house in Odessa
Customer called me back at 6 PM saying the seam popped right where the master bedroom door hits, so I drove 45 minutes back to redo it with proper glue and tape while their dog kept sniffing my tools.

Did you check if the door was even hung level before you went back? I've seen so many ranch houses settle weird over time, and if the frame is twisted no amount of glue and tape is gonna save that seam.

Man, you're absolutely right @cooper.drew. I used to think a good glue and tape job could fix anything, but I've been burned enough times by old ranch house settling to know better now. Those things shift so bad that even a perfect seam job will fail if the door frame is pulling it apart.
