Trying to stretch carpet over a sunken floor joist added a whole day to my job

Honestly, the subfloor had a two inch dip from a bad repair, and my power stretcher just kept slipping. Ended up sistering a new joist and building up the low spot with plywood shims. Anyone else had a floor prep nightmare that blew the schedule?

Ugh, been there with a concrete hump!

Yeah concrete humps are the worst. I saw this article where a guy had one in his driveway from tree roots. He tried grinding it down but just made a huge dusty mess. Ended up having to cut out a whole section and repour it, cost him a fortune. Total pain.
