Found a trick to keep my privacy with digital payments at the gas pump
I was sick of getting my debit card skimmed at gas stations around Memphis. Last month I started using a prepaid cash card I load up with $50 each week just for gas and coffee. It's not tied to my bank account so if someone grabs the number they can't touch my savings. Has anyone else found a simple workaround like this to dodge the tracking and theft risk?

Wait, isn't it a pain to keep loading up the card though? I guess it beats getting your account drained for sure.

Oh totally, loading it up does get old. But I've started just throwing on a set amount every payday, like I'm paying a small bill. That way it's automatic and I never really notice it missing. Your mileage may vary of course, but for me it's way better than the panic of a drained checking account. Once you get into the rhythm it's barely a hassle.

Girl, you should try a digital wallet app on your phone that creates a one time code for each pump, that way the card number is dead after you use it and nobody can resell it.
