Using only cash for everything" sounds nice until you realize how much harder it is to track your spending without a bank statement or app. My grandma did the same thing and ended up losing track of hundreds because she forgot what she spent at the grocery store. Cash gives you that physical feeling of money leaving your hand, but it also makes it way too easy to lose receipts and forget where it went.

Yo same here! Tbh I tried the cash only thing for a month and it was a total mess. @shane_park92 I get what you're saying about the physical feeling, but for me it just made me panic withdraw more cash and lose track even faster. Ngl I ended up spending more because I'd grab cash from an ATM and then forget I already had some in my wallet. My buddy did the whole envelope system and still lost track of his rent money once, so I'm with you on this one.

Honestly I think you're kind of missing the point about cash. It's not about tracking every penny like a bank app does, it's about physically feeling the money leave your hands so you naturally spend less. Your grandma's problem wasn't cash itself, it was that she didn't have a system for tracking it. I've seen plenty of people with bank statements who still lose track of hundreds because they swipe without thinking. Cash forces you to be more careful upfront, not rely on checking a screen later. Tbh if you use cash right, you don't need receipts for every little thing because you're more aware of what you're buying in the moment.
