I finally admitted my contactless tap habit was hurting me at the diner last Tuesday
When the cashier at Joe's Diner charged me $0.85 extra for using my card on a $6.50 coffee, I realized I'd been saying 'just tap it' for years without ever checking the receipt, and that little fee added up to about $41 a month, so now I'm back to carrying crumpled twenties, but has anyone else noticed local spots quietly tacking on surcharges?
