My card got declined buying a $2 coffee because my bank thought it was fraud
Last Tuesday at the corner cafe, my tap to pay failed three times in a row, locking my account for an hour while I called customer service. The automated system flagged the tiny purchase as suspicious activity, which is absurd when I buy a $5 latte there every morning. Has anyone else had their normal spending habits messed with by overly cautious fraud algorithms?

Tell me about it, my bank once froze my card for buying a pack of gum. I guess they figured a criminal mastermind would finally crack after years of planning and steal... some minty fresh breath. The logic is so backwards, they'll let a huge charge from some weird website go through but lose their minds over two dollars at a place I go to every single day. It's like they're trying to protect me from my own boring routine.

My bank actually flagged a $40 gas station fill up last month because I was two towns over from my usual spot. I get why they do it, but the system seems to miss normal life stuff, like driving to see a friend. It's a pain to unlock the card, but I'd rather deal with that than find out someone drained my account buying fancy electronics across the country. The false alarms are annoying, but the real fraud protection has saved me before.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. It makes you look broke over a coffee. My bank does the same thing and it's always at the most awkward times.
