My card reader went dead during a job last Tuesday

I was cleaning a house in Cleveland and went to take payment from a regular client. My Square reader just blinked and died, no warning at all. She only had a $50 bill on her and I couldn't run it through my phone either since the battery was low. I had to drive 20 minutes to an ATM and then come back to give her change. Has anyone else had a payment system fail on them mid-job and had to scramble?

I had to drive 20 minutes to an ATM" - oh the joys of modern technology. Nothing says "professional cleaner" like jogging back to a client's house with sweaty cash from some gas station machine because your fancy little card reader gave up the ghost. Hope you at least got a good story out of it.

Actually my Square reader hasn't failed in two years so this sounds like a luck thing, @claire_grant34 but go off I guess.

Ah I heard Square updated their software recently. Maybe that fixed the bugs for you.
