My town's summer fair went from half cash to almost none in three years. The food truck guy said his card reader is faster than making change now.

Yeah, the food truck guy is right. I went to a flea market last week and barely anyone had cash on them.

Barely anyone had cash" feels like a stretch. Most flea markets I've been to still have ATMs and plenty of people using them. It's not like cash has suddenly vanished.

You're right about the ATMs, but I've seen the same thing happen at yard sales. People show up with just cards now and get stuck when someone's only taking cash. It's a weird shift to watch in real time.
