My wallet finally went digital after that ATM fiasco in Chicago

I held onto cash for a long time, mostly out of habit. But last spring in Chicago, I needed $40 for a farmers market and hit three ATMs that were either out of service or charging $4.50 fees. That pushed me to load everything onto my phone card app, and now I barely touch paper money. What I miss is the physical feel of handing over a $20, especially for tips or small purchases. Does anyone else worry that without cash, we lose the ability to give money anonymously to a stranger who needs it?
