Set up a prepaid card for my fun money and finally stopped guessing what I spent
My problem was simple: I could never tell where my spending went because it all came from one account. Six months ago I opened a prepaid card at a grocery store in Bakersfield, loaded $150 onto it every Friday, and used it for everything non-essential. The part that worked was leaving the card at home on Mondays, so if I wanted takeout I had to go get it. Turns out I was eating out 11 times a week, which I had zero clue about. Now the balance itself tells me when to chill, no app and no math needed. Anyone else use a separate card just to put a wall around their spending, and does the wall hold up for you?
