Vent: My card got declined at a farmers market in Asheville and I was just stuck.
The vendor only took digital payments and my bank had flagged the transaction as suspicious. It made me realize how helpless you are when the system decides you can't spend your own money. Has anyone else had a payment freeze lock them out at a bad time?

Ugh, that's the worst. Happened to me trying to get gas on a road trip once. Felt so stupid just standing there while the bank's robot held my money hostage.

My bank's fraud alert saved me from a gas station skimmer last month, juliarodriguez.

...calling your bank over a farmers market sounds a little extra, doesnt it? Like, unless the booth is run by some guy with a hoodie and a ski mask, its probably just someone selling tomatoes. I mean, how much fraud are we talking about with a bunch of zucchini and hand knit scarves? People act like every cash transaction is a trap now. Maybe just bring cash next time and save yourself the headache. Its not like farmers markets are known for their sophisticated identity theft operations lol.
