A diner cook in Tulsa ruined boxed mac and cheese for me with one sentence
I was working a double at the diner in Tulsa back in March and watched the line cook finish every single ticket of mac and cheese with a splash of the pasta water and a pinch of dry mustard from a $1 tin. I always thought the box was fine on its own until I tried it his way at home and realized I had been eating chalk paste for 20 years. Does anyone else have a cheap trick from a line cook that made a boxed meal actually taste like food?
Man, dry mustard in mac and cheese is such a game changer. Tbh that little tin costs nothing and it wakes up the whole box. Ngl I keep a jar in my cabinet now just for that.
