Am I the only one who got totally burned by a 'farm-to-table' event in the middle of nowhere?

Drove hours to this rustic farm dinner gig, and their 'kitchen' was a grill and a sink with COLD water only. Had to prep everything outside while bugs dive-bombed the salad. How do you deal when the reality of a location is nothing like the promise?

That "rustic farm dinner" description sounds pretty spot on to me. Part of the real farm experience is dealing with some cold water and bugs.

Cold water and bugs, that's the real deal.

Recall trying to wash up with that icy well water... your hands going numb. What bugs bothered you the most, like flies in the kitchen or spiders in the bunk? I heard some farms have issues with ticks in the long grass... makes you think twice about walking around. How do you deal with it all without losing your mind... or do you just accept it as part of the deal?

Guess I'd rather freeze my hands off than deal with ticks, @nancyjones.
