Had to choose between a $15k POS system or sticking with my paper ticket rails from 2003

I picked the paper rails because my Saturday night rush is 200 covers and the new system would have slowed me down, but now I'm having trouble finding anyone under 30 who can read my handwriting - has anyone else dealt with this trade-off?

...so my buddy Dave runs this little diner, same deal, paper tickets from like 2005. He finally caved and got a fancy tablet system because his new kid server literally handed him back a ticket and said "I can't read this, is that a 4 or a 9?" Dave said it was a 9, it was actually a 4, and the whole table got the wrong food. But here's the thing, the new system took him three weeks to get used to and he said for the first two weeks his ticket times were a disaster, everyone was mad. Now he says it's fine but he misses the feeling of ripping a ticket off and yelling at the line cook. Just a weird trade-off no one warns you about.

@calebc40 Honestly I'm on the staff's side here, it's not their job to decode bad handwriting.
