Shoutout to the guy who told me to ditch my fancy digital scale

I mean, I used to swear by it for baking, but the battery died mid-service during a 300-cover night last Friday. My sous just grabbed a mechanical one and we didn't miss a beat. Anyone else have a piece of 'upgraded' gear that actually lets them down?

Yeah, a backup is smart. I did the same thing with my old one and it saved me last month.
