Spent 45 minutes hunting for a leak in my prep sink, turned out to be a loose gasket the whole time
So I'm doing my usual Saturday morning prep last weekend, and I notice a puddle under the prep sink. Not a big one, but enough to be annoying. I grab a flashlight and start crawling around looking for a pipe crack or a bad seal, (you know, the usual suspects). I check every joint, every connection, even pull out the under-shelf bins. After 45 minutes of this nonsense, I'm about to call a plumber. Then I just happen to wiggle the faucet base, and water starts dripping from the gasket right there. A 30 second fix with a screwdriver. Has anyone else had a simple problem like that turn into a whole ordeal because you assumed it was something deeper?

Used to be the type who'd assume it had to be something major if it took that long to find. This post reminded me that sometimes the simplest thing hides right in plain sight.

Honestly I see it a little different. Sometimes stuff really is hiding in plain sight but other times it takes forever because the simple answer is ALSO the one nobody wants to believe is true. Like you keep looking for a bigger explanation because accepting the obvious feels too easy.

Wait, so you're saying the answer was super obvious this whole time and everyone just refused to believe it? That's wild to think about!
