A homeowner in Boise told me I was wasting my time cleaning his chimney every year
I was up on his roof last fall, getting my rods ready, when he came out and said, 'You know, the last guy said I only needed this done every three years. You're just trying to make an extra buck.' I told him I'd seen a lot of chimneys in ten years, and the build-up from his wood stove was pretty heavy. I even showed him the camera footage of a quarter inch of creosote in a tricky bend. He just shook his head and said it was a scam. I finished the job, but it stuck with me because he was so sure. I get that people want to save money, but a blocked flue is no joke. Has anyone else had a customer fight you on the basic need for an annual sweep?
