A homeowner in Boise told me my camera work was too fast to follow.

I was showing a client the video from a recent inspection, and she said she couldn't see the cracks I was pointing out because I panned past them too quick. Now I slow right down and say what I'm looking at as I film. How do you make sure your inspection videos are clear for customers?

Ugh, that's such a common trap to fall into. I totally get what @aaron_adams means about it feeling slow, but narrating each step is the only way it makes sense to them. It turns a confusing video into a clear report they can actually use.

Yeah, @irisowens, that reminds me of explaining my grandma's new remote.

Got the same feedback a while back and it stung. You get so used to seeing these things every day you forget the client is seeing it for the first time. Now I literally talk through every single shot, like "here's the furnace, I'm checking the flame" and hold the camera still for a few seconds. It feels slow to me but it's what they need to actually understand.

Honestly I used to think people were just being picky about this stuff. But the first time a client sent me a confused text asking what a blurry white thing was I realized they really do need it slooooow.
