Customer told me her old sweep said liner checks are a scam, that stuck with me
She said the guy brushed her flue and told her a camera inspection is just upsell fluff, so she never had one done in 9 years. I ran my scope down and found cracked tiles near the smoke chamber on a 1920s house, and she went quiet. How do you all explain the value of a liner check without sounding like you're just selling something?
The flex cam is the only way to actually see what's going on back there, so calling it an upsell is wild to me. A cracked tile near the smoke chamber is a real fire risk, not some made up thing. Maybe it's just me but showing her the screen did more than any pitch ever could.
