Opted for a polypropylene brush over steel wire for a heavy creosote job in Denver

Had to choose between steel wire and polypropylene brushes for a big cleanout last month on a rental property near City Park. The poly brush slid through the glazed creosote easier without scratching the stainless liner. Any other sweeps here ever switch to poly and stick with it?

City Park area is actually Zone 2 for Denver's fire code, so polypropylene is fine (unlike steel wire which can spark) but you probably already knew that. Just watch out for those older clay liners that can still chip with poly if the creosote is really baked on.

Huh, does that Zone 2 thing apply to the newer condos going up over by the old rail yard too? I heard they're using different venting setups over there.
