Saw a real old school chimney pot setup in Charleston last week

It was a row of houses built in the 1880s, and every single one had a different clay pot design. Has anyone worked on a historic block like that and found a good way to source replacement parts?

My buddy in Savannah had to get a custom pot made because the salvage yards only had common patterns.

That sounds amazing, Charleston is full of those details. Finding exact matches for those old clay pots can be a real hunt. Have you tried reaching out to any local historical societies or salvage yards that specialize in old building materials?

It's like @aaronsullivan said, that hunt for old parts feels like a lost skill now.

Oh man, @aaronsullivan, my last salvage yard trip was just me staring at a pile of bricks for an hour (I am not good at this).
