Switched from steel to poly brush rods last month for a tight flue

I had a tricky 8 inch clay flue with a weird offset and the steel rods kept binding up. Tried the poly ones and they bent through that curve smooth as butter. Has anyone else had better luck with poly rods on older chimneys?

You tried the small one then? I swear poly rods are like the only thing in life where going bigger actually makes things easier, everything else is the opposite. @michaelgrant I had the 3/4 inch ones first and they bent on me during a tough pull, switched to 1 inch and it's night and day, no flex at all. Makes me wonder why so many things are made just barely good enough when a little extra does the job right.
