That old masonry in Philly taught me a new trick
Was up in a rowhouse in South Philly last week, and the flue tile had this weird glaze buildup. Tried my usual wire brush and it wasn't budging, so I scraped a bit with a hand chisel and it came off clean. Anyone else run into that and got a better method than I used?

Careful with a chisel on glazed flue, that can crack the tile real easy.
